24hrs, 36 sore feet, 50 miles and 8 football grounds.

18 brave men from Newton Aycliffe had the will to walk 50 miles in 24 hours and visit many local football grounds to raise awareness of men's mental health and male suicide. The walk began at Newton Aycliffe FC on Saturday 27 April and finished at the same place the following morning. The men visited Shildon, Bishop Auckland, West Auckland, Willington, Crook and Tow Law FC during the 24 marathon. Thanks to Bishop Auckland Chairman Steve Coulthard for refreshments and Shildon Alive for providing much needed early evening sandwiches. The men raised the outstanding total of £4449.46 to support ManHealth continue their life saving work in our region.

Busy few months.

What a busy few months we have had at ManHealth. We have expanded our services to include two new groups in Stanhope and Hartlepool both opened in February and are growing nicely. Really happy to be supporting more men in our region. In terms of raising awareness we have been really busy. We hosted PORKPIE and Definitely Oasis at the Shildon Civic Hall in February and March. Two great gigs. In February The Cons Club in Coundon held an event for us, and we sponsored a game at Darlington Mowden Park Rugby Club. Over the Easter weekend we had a fundraising event at the Red Lion Shildon and The Duck in Crook. Thank you to Kay Walker and Ray Mole and Dave Cee for organising those.
